The Aviation General Hospital
The Aviation General Hospital was approved for establishment by the State Council and the Central Military Commission in 1972 and officially opened in 1987. It is affiliated with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). It is a large comprehensive tertiary public hospital with a focus on aviation medicine, integrating medical care, teaching, research, prevention, emergency care, rehabilitation, and health promotion. The hospital is recognized as a civilized unit of the central state organs, a UN "Baby-Friendly Hospital," a "National People's Reassured Demonstration Hospital," a "Health Promotion Hospital" in Beijing, a "Safe Hospital" in Beijing, a "Beiyuan Regional Medical Center" in Beijing, and a Class A designated hospital in Beijing. The hospital undertakes research tasks related to the development of new aviation equipment, large-scale flight tests, and the integration of medical and engineering research. It also provides medical support for national defense high-tech talents, aviation occupational disease prevention and control, medical services for over one million residents in the surrounding area, and is the designated medical institution for the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
Aerospace Center Hospital
The Aerospace Center Hospital was established in 1958. It is a large comprehensive tertiary hospital with complete disciplines, well-equipped facilities, and coordinated development of medical care, education, and research. It is affiliated with the Aerospace Clinical Medical College of Peking University, serves as a teaching hospital for Beijing University of Technology, is a regional medical center in Haidian District of Beijing, and is the Chairman unit of the Southwest Medical Consortium in Haidian District. The hospital is a national clinical trial institution for drugs and medical devices, a standardized training base for resident physicians in Beijing, a Class A designated medical institution for basic medical insurance in Beijing, and a designated medical institution for work-related injuries in Beijing. The hospital is responsible for providing medical, teaching, research, and preventive services as a tertiary hospital. It also fulfills medical support tasks for national ministries, the aerospace and defense industry, and central enterprises.
Beijing Hospital
Beijing Hospital, originally known as the German Hospital, was established in 1905. After the victory of World War II, it was renamed as the Municipal Beiping Hospital. In April 1949, the medical staff from the Central Military Commission's Health Department, along with personnel from the Yan'an Central Hospital and the Bethune International Peace Hospital, took over the "Municipal Beiping Hospital" and renamed it "Beijing Hospital" following the change in Beijing's place name. Despite the passage of time, the style of Beijing Hospital remains understated and unpretentious. The calligraphy of the four characters "北京医院" (Beijing Hospital) was written by Chairman Mao Zedong in 1950 and has since become an important symbol of the hospital. Beijing Hospital has inherited the responsibilities and excellent traditions of the Yan'an Central Hospital and continues to serve as a major base for national healthcare.
Beijing Aerospace General Hospital
Beijing Aerospace General Hospital was established in 1958. It is a comprehensive tertiary hospital that integrates medical care, teaching, research, prevention, and occupational disease prevention and control. The hospital is responsible for the occupational disease prevention and health examinations of tens of thousands of employees of the Aerospace Science and Technology Group in Beijing. It also provides medical support for large-scale flight tests and healthcare services for aerospace employees, their families, and approximately one million residents in the surrounding area. The hospital covers an area of 49,175.5 square meters with a building area of 84,476 square meters. As of June 2023, the hospital has 1,559 staff members, including 420 doctors, 697 nurses, and 181 medical technicians. The hospital has 900 authorized beds and 44 clinical and medical technology departments, including key disciplines such as thoracic surgery, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, urology, neurology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, cadre medical care (geriatrics), health management center, and nephrology, which have reached advanced levels in China.
Peking University Sixth Hospital
Peking University Sixth Hospital (Peking University Institute of Mental Health, Peking University School of Mental Health) is a clinical, talent training, and scientific research base for psychiatry and mental health at Peking University. It is the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health in Beijing, the Mental Health Center of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and a dual-center hospital with the National Clinical Research Center for Mental and Psychological Disorders and the National Center for Mental Disorders in China.
Tsinghua University Yuhquan Hospital
Tsinghua University Yuhquan Hospital (Tsinghua University Integrative Medicine Hospital) is a tertiary Grade A hospital that integrates traditional Chinese and Western medicine, combining medical care, teaching, research, and preventive healthcare. The hospital upholds the Tsinghua University motto of "Self-Discipline and Social Commitment" and the ethos of "Actions Speak Louder than Words," emphasizing the coordinated development of medical education and research. It has established the core value of integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine with the ethos of social responsibility. Originally known as Beijing Yuhquan Hospital (402 Hospital of the Ministry of Electronics Industry), the hospital officially opened in December 1983. It was previously under the administration of the Fourth Ministry of Machinery Industry, the Ministry of Electronics Industry, the Ministry of Machinery and Electronics Industry, and the Ministry of Information Industry. In April 2003, it was transferred to Tsinghua University and renamed Tsinghua University Yuhquan Hospital.
